Newberry SGRHOs Support Thanksgiving Community Service with Feed Thy Neighbor

Newberry, South Carolina — On Saturday, November 15, 2025,  Nu Nu Sigma Alumnae Chapter and Upsilon Rho Undergraduate Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., alongside the Sorority’s International President, Marica Harris, proudly volunteered with Feed Thy Neighbor at United Methodist Church in Newberry, South Carolina, to support their annual Thanksgiving meal service.

Feed Thy Neighbor Kitchen convened its annual Thanksgiving meal service, providing a warm and nourishing holiday meal to individuals and families throughout the Newberry community. Members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. rendered volunteer support by assisting with food service, hospitality, and operational needs to help ensure the event’s success.

In addition to their service contributions, the Nu Nu Sigma Alumnae Chapter made a substantial donation of food items to support the Thanksgiving program. Donations included:

  • 22 turkeys

  • 7 sweet potato pies

  • 7 pumpkin pies

  • 7 apple pies

  • 7 cases of Stove Top stuffing

  • 22 cans of turkey gravy

  • 22 cans of sweet yams

  • 22 cans of cut green beans

  • 7 cases of cranberry sauce

  • 11 packs of Hawaiian rolls

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. remains committed to advancing the well-being of communities through purposeful service, civic engagement, and collaborative partnerships. Participation in this initiative underscores the Sorority’s enduring mission to uplift and empower underserved populations.
